There are a host of events & festivals in Ilfracombe and the surrounding area throughout the season for all to enjoy. In Ilfracombe itself , we have the “Jack in the Green” festival on Mayday with processions, Maypole & Morris dancing and Ilfracombe’s Beer festival.

Also in the month of May we have the North Devon & Exmoor Walking Festival and The Westward Ho! Pot walloping, an annual 3 day event full of traditional fun.


June sees Victorian Week when the town celebrates its Victorian past and heralds the start of North Devon Festival which champions the best local talent alongside world wide stars of stage and screen, with hundreds of individual events including Dance, Sport and visuals arts throughout the whole month.  Music lovers will enjoy Gold Coast Ocean Fest. The town also hosts A Round Lundy Yacht race and a Gig Regatta, so plenty to see and do throughout June.


In July we have power boat racing , Ilfracombe Tennis Tournament and The Ilfracombe roundtables’ Birdman competition which sees crazy so
called aviators flinging themselves over the pier, with live music and refreshments available. For the sporty amongst you the 14th July is the North Devon Marathon and Clovelly Maritime Festival, a great day out.


There is plenty to keep you entertained in August with North Devon’s premier agricultural spectacular, The North Devon Show, Bank Holiday Beer festival and Grand Mini Tour, Hundreds of Minis old and new descend on Ilfracombe’s promenade. If you like Classic cars head for the Castle hill estate, Filliegh, 3rd – 5th August.


In September we round off the summer with all things nautical, a collection of ocean orientated entertainment, from rock pooling to Kayaking all underpinned by a celebration of local history, locally sourced food and produce.
